Fibre to Fabric

Thinner strands are called Fibres.

The following are the two types of Fibres:


  • Natural Fibres
    • From Plants
      • Cotton 
      • Jute
    • From Animal
      • Silk
      • Wool
  • Synthetic Fibres
    • Polyester
    • Nylon
    • Acrylic

Ginning:
It is the process of making Fibre from the cotton roll by separating the cotton seeds by combing. Now it is generally done by the machine.

Spinning:
It is the process of making yarn from Fibres. Traditionally, it was done by Charkha in Indian, now it is being done by Spinning Machine.

Weaving:
Arranging two sets of yarns arranged together. It is done by looms, which are either operated by hand or power.

Knitting:
Single yarn is used to make a piece of fabric. For example, Sweater making


Jute fiber is obtained from the stem of Jute Plants.
