Soil erosion affected district in Uttar Pradesh

 Soil erosion means loss of topsoil. In Uttar Pradesh or overall India, rainwater is the biggest cause of soil erosion. Loss of vegetation cover due to deforestation, overgrazing, and mining further increase the rate of soil erosion.

The following districts of Uttar Pradesh are affected by soil erosion due to the mishandling of rainwater:

Bhabhar region's Districts

  • Gorakhpur

Terai Region's Districts:
