(NCERT class 12 geography, India People and Economy, Chapter-7-Mineral and Energy Resources)

Answer.

The Dandi March was a non-violent movement that started on 12 March 1930 in Sabarmati Ashram, Dandi village, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It was a 24 days movement and ended on 6 April 1930 by making salt Gandhiji. This movement was against the salt tax and salt monopoly of the British.

During that time, the production of salt was monopolized by the British and they imposed a heavy salt tax. Indians did not have the right to make or collect salt. Later, the Dandi March took the form of massive civil disobedience in India.
