Explain how water becomes a renewable resource.

Question.

Explain how water becomes a renewable resource.

( Chapter - 3 -Water Resources, Cass X NCERT Contemporary India -II )

Answer.

A renewable resource is a natural resource whose rate of replenishment is much higher than the rate of use. Examples of renewable resources are water, air, and sunlight.

Water is a renewable resource as it can be easily replenished. The total amount of water on the earth remains the same. The cyclic movement of water from one form to another from the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere makes it a renewable resource.

The hydrological cycle movement of water makes water a renewable resource.

Water moves from the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere into the atmosphere through evaporation and transpiration. Again through precipitation, the water comes down from the atmosphere into the lithosphere and hydrosphere.
