Identify the Canadian Shield, the Appalachians, the Western Cordilleras, and Lake Superior with the help of an atlas.

Answer.

Canadian Shield:

Canadian shield is also known as Laurentian Plateau; it is located on the eastern side of Canada and a small part of it also lies on the northeastern side of the USA.

Canadian Shield Region is rich in Iron ore, nickel, gold, uranium, and copper deposits.


The Appalachians:

The Appalachians are located in the northeastern part of the USA and south Eastern part of Canada. 

The Appalachian regions are rich in coal deposits.


Western Cordilleras:

Western Cordilleras is also known as North American Cordilleras, it is the system of mountains that lie parallel to the pacific coast from Mexico to Canada.

Western Cordilleras has vast deposits of copper, lead, zinc, gold, and silver.


Lake Superior:

Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world in terms of surface area. In terms of fresh-water volume, it is the third-largest lake in the world after Lake Baikal( Russia), and Lake Tangankiya ( east Africa).

Lake Superior is located in North America between the boundary line of the USA and Canada.
