What is resource conservation?

Question.

What is resource conservation?

( Chapter - 1 Resource, Cass 8 NCERT Resources and Development ( Geography) )

Answer.

Using resources carefully and giving them time to renew is called resource conservation. Saving and reducing the consumption of resources like forests, wildlife, coal, petroleum, water, minerals, soil, land, etc. is called resource conservation.

Resource conservation is very important for both renewable and non-renewable resources. Even renewable resources like water, soil, and forests can become scarce if we use them carelessly. Non-renewable resources like coal, petroleum, and mineral resources will definitely get exhausted if we use them carelessly.

There are three ways to conserve resources-

  • reduce consumption
  • recycling
  • reusing things

Our lives are linked to everything on earth, so conserving each and every resource makes a difference.

Following are the simple actions for resource conservation-

  • Use paper carefully because paper is made from trees.
  • Don't waste electricity, electricity comes from water and coal.
  • Do not waste water because every drop of water is precious.
