What is sustainable development?

Question.

What is sustainable development?

( Chapter - 1 Resource, Cass 8 NCERT Resources and Development ( Geography) )

Answer.

Balancing the need to use resources and conserve them for the future is called sustainable development.

Sustainable development is such a development that uses the present resources very carefully, which not only fulfills the present needs but also takes care of the coming generation to get all the resources of the present. For example, as far as forest resources are concerned, it is a renewable resource, if the consumption rate of forest resources is equal to the replenishment rate, it will be called sustainable use of forest resources.

In sustainable development, we develop not only for the people or society but also for the environment and other natural resources.
