( Chapter - 1 Resource, Cass 8 NCERT Resources and Development ( Geography) )

Answer.

Human resources are one of the three kinds of resources, the others two are natural resources and human-made resources.

Human resource refers to the number and ability( mental and physical) of people. The educated and healthy population of the country makes the most valuable human resources. Improving the quality of people's skills so that they are able to create more resources is known as human resources development.

Human resources are very important among all three resources types because of the following reasons:

It is the human resources that make human-made resources[buildings, roads, steel, vehicle, machines, etc]  and use natural resources [ forest, iron ore, land, water, etc] through knowledge, skill, and technology.

Without human resources, there is no use for other resources.

It is human resources that increase the value of natural resources. It is human skills that help in transferring physical material into valuable resources. For example, it is humans which turn mineral oil (crude oil) into resources.

It is people who can make use of nature and create more resources and create human-made resources through knowledge, skill, and technology.

The country is known for its human resources not other resources like gold. It is human resources that make the country great.

Educated, skilled, and healthy humans are the most valuable resources of the country as they make efficient use of the other resources.
