What do you mean by natural environment?

( Chapter - 1 Environment, Class 7 NCERT, Our Environment( Geography) )

Answer.

Everything (places, people, or anything) that surrounds us is part of the environment. Thus the environment is a combination of both natural and man-made environments.

Land, water, air, plants, animals, etc. together form the natural environment. The natural environment is our basic life support system. It provides the air we breathe, it provides us the water we drink, it provides us the food we eat, and it provides us the land we live on.

The natural environment is the environment in which humans have little or no role to play in formation or regulation. So, the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere are a part of the natural environment.

The natural environment is both the biotic and abiotic components of the earth. The biotic component of the environment includes all living organisms such as plants, animals, and microorganisms. The abiotic component of the environment includes all-natural non-living things such as soil, land, water, sunlight, minerals, and nutrients.
