Why are people considered a resource?

Question.

Why are people considered a resource?

( Chapter - 6 Human Resources, Cass 8 NCERT, Resources and Development ( Geography) )

Answer.

People are considered a resource because of the following reasons:

Other resources are important only when people use them or find them useful. Without people, other natural resources are insignificant( negligible).

It is these people who can create man-made resources by enhancing the value of other natural resources. Examples of man-made resources are roads, paper, industry, and machinery.

The country is known for its people and the country develops because of the healthy and educated people and not because of the gold and diamonds found in the country.

People convert things into resources with their demands and capabilities.

Healthy and educated people develop resources according to their needs.

That's why people are considered a resource and people are the biggest resources in the country.
