Impartiality is one essential value in civil services. It refers to the quality of being fair and unbiased in own actions and decisions. The role of impartiality in civil servants is as follows-

Making objective decisions: Impartiality places objectivity in decision-making above personal preference, favoritism, or biased. It helps civil service in merit-based decisions and ensures accountability.

Equal access to public service; Civil servants are expected to be impartial in their work and avoid favoritism, discrimination, and nepotism. Impartiality helps civil servants to ensure public services to all citizens without any prejudice or bias.

Maintain the trust of the public; Impartiality helps civil servants to make objective and unbiased in their actions; it promotes fairness and transparency in governance which increases the public trust in governance.

In ensuring social justice; Impartiality is crucial to ensuring that justice is served as it helps in equal treatment of law enforcement. Impartiality also plays an important role in the fair treatment of candidates in recruitment and promotion based on their qualifications and skills rather than personal affiliation or social status.

In conclusion, we can say civil servants must uphold impartiality in their actions even if they faced pressure from powerful interest groups or politics as it is their duty to act in the best interest of the public to serve without under influence or bias.
