In which part of the world is tropical deciduous forests found?

Tropical deciduous forests are found in various parts of the world, primarily in regions with tropical and subtropical climates. 

Some of the key regions of the world as follows where tropical deciduous forests are located include:


Large areas of India have tropical deciduous forests. These forests are often referred to as "dry deciduous forests" in the Indian context due to their adaptation to the country's seasonal monsoon climate.

Southeast Asia: 

Tropical deciduous forests are present in countries like Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos, where they experience distinct wet and dry seasons.

Central America and South America: 

These forests are found in parts of Central and South America, including areas in Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela. They are known as "seasonal tropical forests" in some regions.


Tropical deciduous forests exist in parts of West Africa, such as Senegal and Mali, and they are allso found in in East Africa.

Australia :

Tropical deciduous forests are found in northern Australia.

Tropical deciduous forests are characterized by trees that shed their leaves during the dry season to conserve water, and they play a significant ecological role in these regions.
