Brahmo Samaj:

The following are important facts on Brahmo Samaj.

Founding Year: 1828

Founder: Raja Ram Mohan Roy

Founding Place: Kolkata

Important Members: Devendranath Tagore, Keshav Chandra Sen, Shivnath Shastri, and Rabindranath Tagore.

Purpose: Brahmo Samaj was against priesthood, rituals, and sacrifices. It promotes the worship of the eternal God.



Tattwabodhini Samaj:

The following are important facts about Tattvabodhini Samaj:

Founding Year: 1839

Founder: Devendranath Tagore

Founding Place: Kolkata

Important Members: Shridhar Bhattacharya, Shyamacharan Bhattacharya, and Brajendranath Tagore

Purpose: The objective was to encourage religious inquiries and spread the essence of Upanishads. Tattvabodhini Patrika was started by Tattwabodhini Samaj.



Satyashodhak Samaj:

The following are important facts about Satyashodhak Samaj:

Founding Year: 1873

Founder: Jyitirao Phule

Founding Place: Pune

Important Members: Bhaurao Patil, Keshavrao Jedhe, Nana Patil, Khanderao Bagal and Madhavrao Bagal

Purpose: The main aim of Satyashodhak Samaj was to educate women and lower caste people.


Arya Samaj:

The following are important facts about Arya Samaj:

Founding Year: 1875

Founder: Dayananda Saraswati

Founding Place: Bombay

Important Members: Pandit Lekh Ram, Shri Shraddhanand, and Swami Virajanand Dandeesha

Purpose: The aim of the Arya Samaj was to reestablish the Vedas and improve the physical, spiritual, and social well-being of all mankind. Dayanand Anglo Vedic ( DAV) school was established by Arya Samaj.



Prarthana Samaj:

The following are important facts about Prarthana Samaj:

Founding Year: 1876

Founder: Atmaram Pandurang

Founding Place: Bombay

Important Members: R G Bhandarkar,  Narayan Chandavarkar, and Mahadev Govind Ranade

Purpose: The goals of Prarthana Samaj were opposition to the caste system, the introduction of widow remarriage, the encouragement of female education, and the abolition of child marriage.



Ramakrishna Mission:

The following are important facts about Ramakrishna Mission

Founding Year: 1897

Founder: Swami Vivekananda

Founding Place: Belur Math, Kolkata

Important Members: Kalipada Babu, Sri Sheshadri Iyer, Swami Ramakrishnananda, and Swami Nirmalananda

Purpose: It aims to spread the teachings of Vedanta and improve the social conditions of Indian People.
