Answer.

Unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) are commonly known as drones. It is an aircraft that carry no human or pilot, it is remotely operated.

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) for illicit activities, such as smuggling arms, ammunition, and drugs, or engaging in espionage, poses a serious threat to internal security.

Unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) have become significant tools for both military and non-state actors. Non-state actors use unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) to cross border ferries of arms, ammunition, and drugs. These pose a serious threat to Internal Security in India:

Drug trafficking:

Pakistani terrorists use unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) to ferry drugs to India side from Pakistan. These drugs pose a serious threat to internal security.

Arms and ammunition:

Pakistani terrorists transfer arms and ammunition to India through drones. They are also using drugs to drop explosives on India's side.

Surveillance:

Unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) are a serious threat to bordering areas as terrorism uses them for surveillance of vehicles and movement.

Measures taken to tackle this threat:

Several measures are being taken to tackle the threat posed by unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) in the context of internal security:

Drone rule 2021:

In 2021, the Government brought drone rule, which regulates the internal operation of drones in India, and it also promotes drone manufacturing in India.

Anti-Drone Systems:

Indian Army Aviation Corporation is responsible for the deployment of anti-drone technologies, including radio frequency ( RF) signal jammers, laser systems, and other counter-UAV technologies to detect and neutralize unauthorized drones.

DRDO and Hyderabad-based Grene Robitics are developing many indigenous anti-drone systems, that can detect, deter, and destroy the drone.

Training and Capacity Building:

Security personnel should be trained the handle potential UAV threats effectively.

In summary, the growing use of unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) poses significant challenges to internal security around the world, including India. unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology continues to evolve, staying proactive in adapting anti-drone technology, and collaborating at national and international levels is crucial to ensuring internal security.
