What are the values? Throw light over their Central elements.

Answer

Values refer to the principles or standards that guide the behaviors and decision-making of individuals or organizations.


Values are basic beliefs that are valuable to a person, society, or institution and they do not want to compromise it. Based on values individuals and institutions take the decision. Values only determine our preference, it does not give the idea of right or wrong.

For example,

For me, the dignity of the self is more important than life; that means dignity is my value.

For society, justice, freedom, and community welfare are valuable to them, without these values society can not sustain itself in long run.

For school institutions, dedication and impartiality are two main values for school institutions.

For some corporate institutions, quality is more important than quantity. Hence, they do not compromise the quality of the product.


Central Elements of Values:

Belief and importance are the two main central elements of values. 

Values are some kind of belief, and the degree of importance of these beliefs varies from person to person, society to society, and institution to institution.

Central elements of values are shaped by three different central elements:

Individual Values:

Central elements of Individual values are Honesty, dedication, self-respect, truthfulness, and punctuality.

Cultural Values:

Central elements of Cultural values are Justice, Impartiality, and Community welfare.

Corporate Values:

Central elements of Corporate values are quality, reliability, teamwork, trust, mission, Innovation, and Commitment.


In conclusion, ethical values are essential for promoting trust, accountability, and social responsibility. These values provide an ethical framework for making ethical decisions and helping complex moral issues.
