 Copper:

  • India is critically deficient in copper reserve and production of copper.
  • Malleable, ductile, good conductor, mainly used in electrical cable, electronics, and chemical industries.
  • It is used in Jewelry to make the strength.

Major mines in India:

  •  Bala Ghat in MP
  • Khetri Mines: Rajasthan
  • Singh Bhum: Jharkhand

Minor producer:

  • Andhra Pradesh
  • Karnataka
  • Tamil Nadu

Bauxite:

  • It is the non-ferrous metallic minerals
  • It is used to produce the aluminum
  • found mainly tertiary deposits associated with laterite rocks.
  • occur in the hilly range and plateau in India.

Major producer:

  • Odisha is the largest producer
  • Jharkhand
  • Gujarat
  • Chhatisgarh
  • Madhya Pradesh
  • Maharastra


Minor producers:

  • Tamil Nadu
  • Karnataka


Mica:

  • Used mainly electrical and electronic industries
  • can be split in a very thin sheet which is tough and flexible

Major producers:

  • Jharkhand: Lower Hazaribagh plateau
  • Andhra Pradesh; Nellore; best quality
  • Telangana
  • Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh
