 There are 16 nutrients that are essential for overall plant growth, good yields, and save against disease.

These 16 nutrients generally supplied by:

  • Air supply: Carbon and Oxygen
  • Water supply: Hydrogen and oxygen
  • Soil supply: other 13 nutrients; 6 nutrients in the large quantity called macronutrients.
  • 7 nutrients require in small quantities called micronutrients.


Macronutrients:

  • Nitrogen
  • Phosphorous
  • Potassium
  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Sulfur


Micro Nutrients:

  • Iron
  • Manganese
  • Boron
  • Zink
  • Copper
  • Molybdenum
  • Chlorine

To increase the yield, the farmer needs to provide these nutrients in the form of manure and fertilizers.
