(a) What is a ball and socket joint?

Answer:

  • The ball and socket joint allows movement of bone in all direction. For example, Shoulder 

(b) Which of the skull bones are movable?

Answer:

  • Only the Lower Jaw moves and other bones are fixed with the skull.

(c) Why can our elbow not move backward?

Answer:

  • Elbow has a hinge joint that allows only forward and forth movement like a door opening and closing. It does not allow backward movement.
