The cotton shirt is the end product of a garment factory and the raw material of the shirt is cotton fiber which is an agricultural product.


The following is the journey of a shirt from the cotton field:

Cotton is a plantation crop as well as a commercial crop. Cotton crops are grown by farmers and after harvesting raw cotton is plucked out. The final product of cotton crops is cotton rolls.

Through ginning process seeds, leaves, stems, and other debris are separated from cotton rolls; ginning process raw cotton fiber with seeds convert to cotton fiber without seeds.

Through the spinning process, yarn is made from cotton fiber. Spinning may be done through handloom or power looms.

Through the weaving process, cotton fabric is made from yarn.

Finishing and dying are done on cotton fabric to make the final cotton fabric.

Through designing and sewing, the final shirt is made from cotton fabric.

Final cotton shirts may be sold via a retailer or wholesaler to people.
