Answer.

A water divide is an elevated area such as a mountain or upland that separates two neighboring drainage basins. The function of a water divide is to separate two neighboring drainage basins.

The following are examples of the water divide in India:

The Ambala region of Haryana acts as a water divide between the Indus drainage basin and the Ganges drainage basin.

The Western Ghats act as a water divide between the east-flowing river and the west-flowing river.
