What is agriculture?

Answer.

Agriculture is made up of two words- Agri + Culture; the literal meaning of Agri means soil and the literal meaning of culture is cultivation.

Agriculture is the science and art of cultivation on the soil. Growing crops, fruits, vegetation, flower, and rearing livestock is called agriculture. So agriculture involves both activities like raising crops and rearing livestock. Agriculture is also called farming.

Agriculture is primary activity as it involves the production of natural resources.

By doing agriculture, we grow wheat, paddy, gram, etc. crops.
