Question.

What are sand dunes?

( Chapter - 3 Our Changing Earth, Class 7 NCERT, Our Environment( Geography) )

Answer.

A sand dune is a small hill-like mound of sand found in a desert.

The sand dune is a type of depositional landform of a desert that is created by wind.

The wind is an active agent in the desert region. When the wind blows, it picks up the sand and carries it from one place to another. When the wind stops blowing, the sand falls down and gets deposited in small hill-like structures, commonly known as sand dunes.
