The equator passes through three countries in South America:

Ecuador: 

The equator passes directly through Ecuador, and the country is named after it. The "Mitad del Mundo" (Middle of the World) monument is located near Quito, which marks the equatorial line.

Colombia: 

The equator crosses the southern part of Colombia, near the border with Ecuador.

Brazil: 

The equator also crosses the northernmost part of Brazil, near the city of Macapá, in the state of Amapá.
