Which of the following is NOT a noble gas?

a) Neon

b) Hydrogen

c) Helium

d) Argon

Answer. b) Hydrogen

Hydrogen is NOT a noble gas.

About Noble Gas:

The noble gases are the naturally occurring members of group 18 of the periodic table.

There are seven noble gases namely helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), radon (Rn), and Oganesson (Og).

They exhibit great stability and extremely low reaction rates, which is why they have various utilities, some of the utilities are as follows:

Helium gas is preferred in place of hydrogen in " Hot Air Balloon" because Helium gas is non-reactive and is lighter than air.

In Oxygen Cylinder, Helium gas is used as it is lighter than Nitrogen and helium is less soluble in blood than nitrogen.

Argon gas is used in light bulbs as it prevents the evaporation of the tungsten filaments, which results in increased light bulb life.
