Answer.

"Council of Science and Technology ( CST) " is a department of Science and Technology of Uttar Pradesh's government. It was established on May 1, 1975. It is an autonomous body, registered in Societies Registration Act 1860.

It implements various innovation promotion programs intending to foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and scientific research in the state.

Target Groups:


"The Council of Science and Technology ( CST) " sponsors time-bound and result-oriented programs relevant to the state to various Universities, Colleges, Technical Institutions, Research Laboratories, Voluntary Organisations, Non-Government Organisations, and Individual Innovators. Therefore, the target groups in the Innovation Programmes are-

The department's main objective is to spread Science Awareness, Popularize scientific knowledge, create a scientific attitude, and develop a scientific temper among the masses in rural and urban areas. Common activities related to developing scientific temper include-

It has conducted the state-wide " Vigyan Chetna Abhiyan" in all districts of Uttar Pradesh.

It organizes the seminar to increase interest in science and scientific research.

It discourages stereotypes.

It spreads awareness of the benefits of science relating them to familiar day-to-day applications.


Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

It promotes and rewards grassroots technological innovators and traditional knowledge experts. It includes supporting innovative startups and Medium Small Micro Enterprises by providing financial assistance, mentorship, and access to resources to develop ideas and technologies.


Promoting Technology Adoption:

The Council of Science and Technology encourages the adoption and diffusion of innovative technologies among industries, enterprises, and communities to enhance productivity and sustainability.
