Earthquake means is shaking of the earth. It is caused due to the release of energy.
The earthquake can be originated from:
  • Plate Boundaries region due to fault on the crust.
  • Volcanic eruption
  • Landslide
  • Nuclear test or bomb blast
  • Dam burst.
  • Collapse of Mines


The point of place of origin of an earthquake is called the focus.
The point on the surface where the earth wave reaches first is called the epicenter.

The consequence of the earthquake:
The following are the consequence of the earthquake:
  • Destruction of the natural and cultural landscape
  • Can cause flood if the dam collapse
  • Tsunami if an earthquake happened in the ocean.
  • Landslide
  • Fire
  • Soil liquidation
  • Loss of lives and economic.
