Heat Energy obtained from the earth is called geothermal energy. As we go deeper, the temperature in the interior earth rises steadily.


Geothermal energy when Magma from the interior Earth comes out of the surface the tremendous heat released the heat can be trapped and get converted into electrical energy.

In some locations, heat energy may come to the surface in the form of a hot spring. This heat energy can be used to generate steam to run the turbine and generate electricity.

The USA is a major producer of geothermal energy.

In India, there are two locations where geothermal energy plants are located.

  • One is at Manikaran in Himachal Pradesh.
  • The second is at Puga valley in Ladakh.
