Important dates and events during constitutional framing:
- The idea of the Constituent Assembly was first put forward by M.N Roy in 1934.
- August offer in 1940, the British finally accepted to make Constituent assembly.
- Under the Cabinet Mission Plan in November 1946, the Constituent Assembly was framed.
- Sachchidan Sinha was elected the temporary president of the Constituent Assembly as he was the oldest person.
- Later Rajendra Prasad was made president of the Constituent Assembly.
- December 13, 1946, an objective resolution was passed.
- The national flag was adopted on 22 July 1947.
- Member of the Commonwealth was ratified in May 1949.
- The national song and National anthem were adopted on 24 January 1950.
