Thumba (थुम्बा ):

  • Thumba is located near Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerala. 
  • It is famous for Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station.
  • The first rocket was launched from Thumba in 1963.


Nayachar Island (नयाचार द्वीप):

  • Nayachar Island is an island on the Hooghly river, near Haldia, West Bengal. 
  • As per the government, it is an uninhabited island but approx 2500 people mostly fishermen live on the Island.

Doddabetta (डोडाबेट्टा  ) :

  • Doddabetta ( 2637 meters) is the second-highest peak of the Western Ghats and South India after Anamudi. It is the highest peak in Tamil Nadu. It is 9 km from Ooty.
  • It is located in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu.
  • It is a famous tourist place and famous for shola forest and rhododendron trees.

Devasthal (देवस्थल):

  • India's largest optical telescope ( 3.5 m diameter) is located in Devasthal mountain peak and it is located in Nainital,  Uttarakhand.

Pangong lake (पैंगोंग झील):

  • Pangong lake is 134 km long and it is the world's highest saltwater lake. It is located on the eastern side of Ladakh and the southwestern part of Tibet.
  • Pangong lake is famous for changing its color from blue to green to red.
  • On third of Pangong lake lies in India and the rest lies in Tibet.

Hampi (हम्पी):

  • Hampi is a world heritage site and is located in Karnataka.
  • Hampi city is on the banks of Tungabhadra.
  • It is famous for the ruined temple structure that belonged to the Vijayanagar kingdom.


Havelock Island (हैवलॉक द्वीप):

  • Havelock Island is also called Swaraj Island and it is part of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands group.
  • Havelock Island is famous for its clean beaches and coral reefs. 
  • It is the most visited island in Andamans.

Luni River (लूनी नदी ):

  • It is the largest river in the Thar desert of Rajasthan.
  • The Source of the Luni river is the Pushkar valley of the Aravali range.
  • Luni River is also known as the "Sagarmati" river.  
  • Mouth of Luni river is Rann of Kachchh.

Daringbadi (दरिंगबादि ):

  • Daringbadi is a tourist place and hill station and it is located in the Kandhamal district of Odisha.
  • Due to natural beauty and snowfall in winter, Daringbadi is also known as the "Kashmir of Odisha".
  • Daringbadi is the coldest place in Odisha.

Dudhsagar Waterfall (दूधसागर जलप्रपात ):

  • Dudhsagar waterfall is a four-tiered waterfall and it is located on the Mandovi river of Goa.
  • It is a tourist place.
