Define impartiality and discuss the role of impartiality in solving problems of the weaker section. (UPPSC 2022)

Answer.

The weaker sections of the society include the poor, women, children, Dalits, tribes, etc. who often suffer from discrimination in society and are unable to benefit from government schemes.

Impartiality is the main principle of justice and is also an essential value that contributes to civil servants to fulfill their duty effectively. Impartiality means not discriminating against any group or people or party and making your decisions objectively and not being inspired by any prejudice or not influenced by anyone. Impartiality helps civil servants to work for social justice not based on nepotism, caste, religion, gender, etc.


Impartiality plays an important role in solving the problems of the weaker sections as these groups often face discrimination and injustice. Following are some roles of impartiality to solve the problems of weaker sections-


Prevents discrimination and biased decisions; Weak sections of society face discrimination within society. Impartiality ensures the weaker section lives with respect and dignity in society.


Help in the objective decision: Impartiality helps a civil servant to make an objective decision. It helps to make the decision, not in the interest of corporate or other rich persons or communities, but based on the interest of the weaker section of society. 


Provides social justice: Impartiality helps civil servants to create a justified and fair society, which helps to work for the upliftment of the weaker section. Impartiality helps civil servants to be honest about the problems of weaker sections and develop an effective solution.


building trust; Impartiality helps civil servants to build the trust of the weaker sections of society and the government system. Faith is essential for service distribution which can cause better communication and better cooperation between weaker sections and the government that helps solve the problems of weaker sections.


Finally, Impartiality has several roles in solving the problems of the weaker sections such as it prevents discrimination and biased decisions and creating faith along with social justice.
